So get back, back, back to where we lasted
this is kind of a thought. i try so hard to keep me and natasha friends but its like nothing works. i ask her to call me, and she doesnt, i try to hang out with her, and she wont. she seems like she wants to stay friends but she doesnt show it. i try talking to her but nothing helps. this is getting lame and i dont really know what to do. i like having her as a friend but i dunno if its working. im sick of feeling like shit when it seems like she's ignoring me.why am i dedicating a whole post to this? because i dont have this problem with any of my other friends. i dunno who to talk to about it because ironically, she's the one that i always talk to about this stuff. i dunno right now.......

She's a rebel, vigilante, missing link on the brink of destruction
im thinking of changing my heading for the page. i dunno yet, i might work on it tonight.
my vacation starts today and i couldnt be happier because im dead tired. ive been up really late the past few nights so ill sleep in tomorrow. the past three weeks have sucked. i got ditched every saturday night and nothing has really made up for it. i always try to do something with natasha but it looks like thats never gonna happen. it seems like every other week we drift away from each other and if i dont do something to stop it, we discontinue talk altogether. me and mark are going to the same place for thanksgiving so we're gonna hang out and skate cape cod. our own fear and loathing, except... on cape cod. thats piebald.
i got my motion city soundtrack tickets today. cant wait for that show, just a few short weeks. i think natasha's journal influenced me cause it seems like my setup is sorta like her's. whatever, i like it. the band's been practicing alot lately which is cool. we have an acoustic practice tomorrow since mark's leaving for the cape early and we're playing at the java jam which is an acoustic only show.
i dunno what else to update about so i guess that's it.

It says home is where your heart is but what a shame, cause everybody's heart doesn't beat the same
im chilling with oliver right now. it started snowing so we went snow skating. it was pretty sick. rita called to tell me that natasha wasnt coming over tomorrow... that pretty much decides my saturday night considering that i broke all my plans to chill with her. but its cool, ill figure something out. and then sunday is band practice. i guess thats gonna be the highlight of my weekend.

Taking Back Sunday, "You Know How I Do"
So sick, so sick of being tired And oh so tired of being sick We're both such magnificent liars, So crush me, baby, I'm all ears So obviously desperate, So desperately obvious I'll give in one more time and feed you stupid lines all about "it's basic"
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
So sick, so sick of being tired And oh so tired of being sick Willing and waiting to hear the words Of everything you said about So obviously desperate, So desperately obvious So good at setting back examples Please leave, trick, I've had all I can handle
We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore
Think of all the fun I've had, The finest lines divides a night well spent from a waste of time And think of all the days I've spent Alone with just a TV set and I, well I can barely smile (We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore, We won't stand for...) Think of all the fun I've had, The finest lines divides a night well spent from a waste of time And think of all the days I've spent Alone with just a TV set and I, well I can barely smile (We won't stand for hazy eyes anymore, We won't stand for...) He's smoked out in the back of a van Says he's held up with holding on and on and on and on He's smoked out in the back of a van Says he's held up with holding on and on and on and on
Your lipstick (plus) his collar (is greater or equal value to..) ..don't bother, angel
I know exactly what goes on. when everything you'll get is everything that you've wanted, princess, which would you prefer? My finger on the trigger or me face down across your floor? ("just so long as this thing's loaded") wait.... how about I'm outside of your window watching him keep the details cover you're such a sucker for a sweet talker. Such a sucker... and will you tell all your friends, you've got your gun to my head. This all was only wishful thinking and the only thing I regret is that I never let you hold me back. Hoping for the best just hoping nothing happens A thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins I won't ever ask if you don't ever tell me. I know you well enough to know you'll never love me. She'll destroy us all before she's through and find a way to blame somebody else. All of this was all your fault. I stay wrecked and jealous for this simple reason, (you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you) that I just need to keep you in mind as something larger than life. Why can't I feel anything from anyone other than you.

I walk this empty street on the boulevard of broken dreams
journal's back and better than ever (sorta) one note though: i've gotten rid of my tag board so now you have to reply to my entry at the bottom of the post if you want to leave a message. this'll make it easier for me to get to everyone's comments and its easier to moderate comments.
tuesday i got the new Grand Theft Auto (i thought that was worth mentioning.) thursday was the new found glory/sugarcult/green day show which was incredible. green day put on such a great show i wont even be able to post all of the incredible things that went on. right before green day we went out to get drinks and ran into jamie and hooker and some girls... it was nuts. green day played a cover "Shout" and "We are the Champions" but unfortunately didnt play some of their better songs (Letterbomb, When I Come Around, Blood Sex and Booze, Waiting) but it was still a really good show. new found and sugarcult were great too, but sugarcult only played for 15 minutes which was so not cool.
last night was alright, john stayed over and we played music. i learned the guitar part for Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name" its a damn fun song to play and the song is awesome. natasha and amy were gonna come over but mark bailed so then amy did too and natasha just wasnt allowed to come or whatever which i was kinda upset about cause only john ended up at my house. kinda really gay. my sister also had a halloween party which was lame. today i skated for a while and talked to natasha. im kinda down right now and i have something to say... i cant though.
Current Music Green Day, "Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams" Thrice, "Under a Killing Moon" Rage Against the Machine, "Killing in the Name" Stereophonics, "More Life in a Tramp's Vest"

Taking Back Sunday, "Where You Want to Be"
so as my friends know a few weeks back, i got an advanced copy of Taking Back Sunday's new full length, Where You Want to Be. well, i decided that since a lot of people who look at my journal are into TBS, i'd post a review for the CD, song-by-song, so you can at least have my opinion before you go out and get your own copy of the record on July 27th. so here it is:
Taking Back Sunday, "Where You Want to Be" 2004 Victory Records Release: Tuesday, July 27th 2004
The second major label release from Taking Back Sunday titled Where You Want to Be is no Tell All Your Friends. The band has subtly changed their sound and is essentially a new band from the one that recorded TAYF. With only 2 remaining members from the debut CD, the sounds that this new band have created are definitely a makeover from previous songs. The sound isn't harder or softer, better or worse, faster or slower, it's just... different.
The record begins with a cool track titled Set Phasers to Stun in which the distortion of the guitars sounds almost like techno, it definitely shows the growth of the band and how their sounds have changed. The lyrics include the title of the CD, "So pace the stairs to your apartment; That's where you want to be." The song is very guitar-driven. It's stylish and is definitely a good choice to open the album with. The song is followed by the first new single, Bonus Mosh pt. II which was originally a B-Side to Tell All Your Friends. This track is one of the best on the album and you can hear traces of TAYF in this one. Smart lyrics and cool guitar lines. Next is A Decade Under the Influence, also a single off of the CD. A Decade is much softer and melody-driven with a pop-like sound. A very radio friendly track, but it's still very enjoyable. This Photograph is the Proof is next, which was a track used in the movie Spider-Man 2, this is another pop-ish track driven by smooth melodies and cool lyrics. This track is remenicent of Tell All Your Friends in the way that the bridge is one of the most important and most memorable parts of the song. The next song is The Union, this is where the album gets a little faster and a bit more hard with some metal-like guitar lines and very cool lyrics and screams, "Well, I never made a scene; They came to me." New American Classic is the next track and for many will be the first acoustic track heard from TBS. The sound and the lyrics are very different from their style and it almost interupts the CD. This track features a string section from a cello and violins. I am Fred Astaire compliments the previous track very well, it sounds like it takes the previous song and speeds it up. This track is very cool. One-Eighty by Summer is next and has some stylish lines. This song will be a lot of people's favorite. Number Five with a Bullet is my personal favorite, it has with a synthesizer in the background which is very hip. The song is very upbeat and is guaranteed to remind you of your first heartbreak. The next track is Little Devotional which is a great song. The guitar lines are some of the best on the album and the drums will get your feet tapping. Awesome track. The final official track is "...Slowdance on the Inside" which was originally written by John Nolan (former frontman of TBS) but John left the band before it was ever recorded, so here is your first chance (outside of the shows) to hear his lyrical genious on a great track. The song is drum and bass driven, and is one of the greatest tracks TBS has ever put together. And finally, for those of you who want to know about the special B-Side, the re-recording of TBS's first acoustic, "Your Own Disaster:" the song was original recorded as a B-Side to the first major CD, "Tell All Your Friends," but this was during a period when the band had no drummer and so in order to get it out before the album shipped, the song was recorded as an acoustic, and then later, electronic drums were added. The song didn't make it onto the album and the original is now a rare B-Side and is considered one of TBS's best songs. That said, the band decided that the song deserved to be re-recorded the way it was supposed to be made with real drums and Adam (TBS's new vocalist and frontman) on vocals. We'll have to wait until July 20th to hear the new re-recorded version which is set to be the 12th track on the Japanese release of the CD. For now, here is my rating of the album
9/10 Very enjoyable, and easy to listen to. This cd is very cool, even if it includes some tracks which you're almost sure to see on TRL, definitely pick up a copy.
